Infra-red / Radio-controlled Switching Systems

Infra-red or the newer radio controlled switching systems allow people who may have restricted movement in one or both arms to operate the secondary control functions of a vehicle for example the indicators, lights or horn. This action can be carried out safely using only one hand by pressing the relevant button and works in conjunction with a steering ball or lollipop handgrip.

7-way switching system will operate all the basic functions needed to drive safely.
It can operate:
Indicators
Lights dip/main beam and flash
Horn and in some instances Hazard warning lights
Illumination function for night driving

10-way switching system is the most commonly used system.
It can operate:
Indicators
Lights dip/main beam and flash
Horn and in some instances Hazard warning lights
Front wipers – intermittent, low and high speed
Front washers
Illumination function for night driving

13-way switching system

Can operate:
Indicators
Lights dip/main beam and flash
Horn and in some instances Hazard warning lights
Front wipers – intermittent, low and high speed
Front washers
Rear washers and wiper
Illumination function for night driving
